The East Entrance Hall was scenically set up, painted in “straw yellow” colour and decorated with bands, overdoors and chiaroscuro arabesques.
The furniture, made of mahogany wood by the cabinet maker Emanuele Girardi, consisted of a small table with chairs upholstered in green leather, which were characterised by a drum upholstery, fixed with a double row of gold-plated brass studs.
The room was completed by an elegant fireplace in Mondragone marble, adorned with small pilasters and an upper frieze in relief, made by Domenico di Filippo in 1791.
This type of furniture was a novelty at the time and made the paintings stand out. They depicted a shepherd with sheep, by Giacomo Nani, and three hunting scenes with birds, hares, deer, and wild boars, presumably painted by Baldassarre De Caro.
Of the original paintings, only Shepherd with Sheep and, presumably, the two hunting scenes titled Game and Wild boar hunting remain. Other works were added later: Vegetables: carrots, lettuce, cardoons and citrus fruits (oranges, striped lemons), by Giacomo Nani, and Landscape with Waterfall, painted by the painter Pieter Mulier.
During the 20th century, this room served as an entrance, although a second access was opened in the west wing of the royal site.
The work Wild boar hunting is, in all probability, part of the original nucleus
