Still life with game, hare, frogs and pink flamingo

Still life with game, hare, frogs and pink flamingo presents the fruits of a rich hunting trip in a fun and almost childlike manner.

The work, which was among the paintings selected by Hackert to decorate the Carditello Picture Gallery, was chosen specifically for the Dressing Room, where it was a pendant to another still life depicting a fish catch.

In the painting the prominent element is represented by the pink flamingo, hanging from the tree together with another bird, while below there is a hare lying on the ground.

Other game is depicted both in the background, in a basket, and on the rock on the right. Finally, in the foreground, there is a small stream surrounded by vegetation, in which some meticulously portrayed frogs can be seen.
